What a Doorhanger Can Do For You

Pizza companies have the right idea when it comes to advertising: Advertise right before dinner, and take advantage of the general desire to make things easier when it comes to dinner. And they do this by taking advantage of doorhangers.

The basic idea of doorhangers is to have a form of mail that isn't delivered at the same time as other mail, and is less likely than junk mail to be tossed. By combining it with coupons, they have created something that ends up decorating every refrigerator hoping to be used sometime. Because they are hung on the door instead of delivered through the mail, they are less likely to be tossed and thus succeed on all accounts.

They also spread brand awareness. By remaining on the refrigerator, they remind everyone of the company that they represent, even if it just at the edge of awareness. By being coupons, they create a temptation to be used, especially considering everyone loves the product that they represent. In short, they are the perfect advertisement: Passively spreading brand awareness and people actually like seeing them show up.

It's hardly a wonder then that doorhangers are used for a wide variety of products; even political campaigns have used them. They can be very effective for mere advertising!

Presentation Folders – The Silent Salesmen

A presentation folder can be a very useful item; it contains everything needed to make a presentation, including papers that show what the product can do, how it compares to products of equivalent value and even a way to get in touch with someone who can answer any questions. It acts kind of like a silent salesman.

Even though the customer can take the presentation folder home, this still helps to ensure a sale. The information provided is to make the customer more comfortable with his choice and the information is more to show anyone that he may discuss major purchases with than for the customer himself. Ultimately, the presentation folder is a sort of security blanket; the person is using the folder to justify a purchase that he has already essentially made.

In a way, the presentation folder is a prop, but an important psychological one; people tend to get nervous about big purchases and so they need some encouragement, a reason, to justify the big purchase. By being presented with so much information, the person has an excuse to buy the item. Thus, the purchase that could have gotten away doesn't because they have they have an excuse to make the purchase. Weird logic, but that's what it takes to sell a car.

Postcards Are Not Always Considered Junk Mail

The problem with most junk mail is that it is easily identified and tossed away. However, there is a way to create junk mail that won't be easily tossed away, and may even stick around. A Commercial Printer instead of your home office all-in-one can make a big difference.

Post cards are a great solution to the junk mail problem. They can act as your foot into the door , especially if you ensure that they have some other function, such as acting as a coupon or a source of relevant information. If a bit of care is put into their design, it is possible that they may even be collected. Best yet, they easily fit into into almost folder easily, and can be placed on a bulletin board so that they can be easily remembered and collected when they are actually needed.

A little more thought needs to be put into postcards, as they need to come off as inviting, not flashy. Thus, between design, superior printing quality, and the right target market they can be another way in through the front door of your potential customers.

Menus and Options

Face-to-face meetings are one of the best things about doing business, as it helps you not only have a face to put to the name, but it can also solidify the client's needs, and give you a chance to make him feel better about hiring you. Better yet, it can give you the chance to really impress him by giving him a price list.

A number of businesses use brochures as menus. The reasons are patently obvious: Brochures are reasonably cheap to design and produce, and they allow customers to look at options that they may not have looked at when you were in the room, as they were more interested in making sure that their standard options were taken care of. If you want to make sure that you can order pepperoni and cheese pizzas, that will generally be the first thing that you will look for. Eventually you will want something just a little different, and so you will look at the supremes and the specialties; it's the same for any customer.

As brochures fit almost anywhere, they are welcome, especially by businessmen constantly on the go and by secretaries who like things small, compact, and easy to fit into a folder of useful contacts. And that allows the menus to be used by many and in many places.

Using the Post Office for Sales

The ideal sales technique is one in which you simply point out that there is a sale, and everyone comes running. Although that techniques has yet to exist, there is something that can get the message out quickly, and help to ensure that the crowd does come running. That something is a postcard.

Post cards are one of the fun things that you can use to sale your product. They can fit anywhere, and are even placed on the bulletin board for easy finding. Better yet, they are always looked at, even if they are tossed in the garbage as quickly as they are brought in, so the message is spread. If the postcard is saved, it is usually used as it represents something interesting.

From a return on interest perspective, post cards are a great gimmick. They aren't as inexpensive as business cards, but they are a reasonable investment that gives back a lot more than you put into it. Although they are more complicated to deal with (not only are the standards higher, but you need to allow for the stamps and make sure that you have them where they need to be if you are using a service to spread them), post cards are definitely worth it. Anything that gets potential customers to become actual customers is worth the cost, and the cost is so little with post cards.

The Simple Advantages of Flyers

Flyers are highly effective when it comes to advertising. Yet so many advertisers think that they are useless or too cheap. Of course, there are ultimately no forms of advertising that are useless and definitely not too cheap.

Flyers are useful for establishing that you are doing something interesting, and can help establish your brand on a basic level, especially if you have managed to place your flyers throughout an area, and once you have established your brand, you have fought half the battle of getting your message across to the masses. As they are exceedingly cheap to produce and place, flyers can quickly get the message out.

And the design of the flyer isn't that hard to create, either. As long as you have one strong design and multiple paper colors, you should do fine. Obviously, remember the important information, such as where to get more information, when and where to meet, how to get there (maps are always nice), and what is going on, or the flyer is just a pretty picture on pretty paper. You would be surprised how many people take a great idea and convert it to recyclable paper because they forgot important details.

Flyers are arguably one of the most important parts of any local campaign. Make them useful, and you will be very successful!

What Can You Do With Two-Sided Cards?

Any good businessman is always looking for any edge when it comes to putting himself ahead of his competitors, and the best edge is one that takes an already existing technology and gives it an added use. The most basic technology that a businessman has is his business cards, and it can be a definite edge to use the other side.

The empty side of the business card is already used to copy down addresses, personal phone numbers, and even when the next meeting will be held. However, it can be sort of neat to print something on the other side, be it something as formal as a generic form that formalizes how they are already used informally, or the slogan or the mascot of the company. A more practical use is to put a map to the location of the office, or a place to keep track of logins and passwords if your company requires same in order to access part of your website (such as a discussion board or clients-only work sections).

Because the idea is relatively new, any use of the other side can impress a potential client. Just remember that you don't want to get too informal, such as putting family pictures on the other side, or you will turn off the client. Nonetheless, it can give you an edge over your competition, and that makes lit interesting to look into it.

Printing Menus the Right Way!

Fast food menus are printed by dozens of local businesses in your community as a method of luring new customers, existing customers, and expanding into new areas. There is probably no better idea then to advertise your menu, ingredients, store history, and special foods to your customer base. Full-colour menus can make sales happen, add some credibility to your business, and allow you to track the money spent on marketing in these areas.

Then why is such an important advertising tool ignored from a design stand point? How many times have you seen a boring looking take-out menu arrive at your house? Why in the world would a restaurant print their menus without using full-colour when it costs virtually the same as black and white printing?

Design your next menu with flair and add some colour. Then get them professionally printed by 25 Hour Printing Services of Toronto.

A Little about Commercial Printing

Commercial printing is a highly technical task and most people, not familiar with the processes, are easily overwhelmed by the many parameters involved. Printing is not just putting words on paper. It involves the choice of text design, images (either photographs or graphics or a combination of both), the quality of paper the final output is produced on as also the packaging in terms of folding, lamination or binding.

To ensure that the end product is of the same quality as you had desired, the various stages of the printing process must be understood. The first is what is referred to as pre-press and this involves the assemblage of text, graphics, illustrations and photographs that you want printed

Production is the second step wherein the project is run on a printing press using printing plates, paper and ink. In more complex jobs that are also expensive, this is the stage when the printer provides a sample of the final unfolded product that is known as a press proof. This must be read and checked for accuracy before the final go-ahead is given for the printing of all copies to take place.

The final step is the post-press stage that happens after the ink has dried. The printer then collates, folds, trims and binds the pages to create the finished product as per the originally conceived and approved design.

Once things get signed off... then away they go. Before you know it your finished product will arrive ready to do its job.

Does Your Business Need Presentation Folders?

Sure you do! Even if you are just dropping in to visit a client for a brief meeting or chat. A printed and branded presentation folder acts as folder to house a highlight sheet or other information plus your business card that you leave behind. If you only leave papers on your clients desk it is more likely that they will be thrown out versus the pages being left in one of these Presentation Folders. Also if your logo and company colours are on the presetnation folder it keeps that brand in front of the client which we believe helps your overall image.

Good Presentation Folder design involves not simply producing a flashy design, but a careful analysis of your target market, what level of sophistication is needed and consideration of your market niche in order to make a great first impression. And, last but certainly not least, your presentation folder should leave a potential client with something he or she is hesitant to throw away.

Busines Card Story

One of the best stories I've ever read about on the subject of Business Cards was about a salesman named Joe Girard. Known by many as the Greatest Car Salesman in the World. Back in the day when Joe was selling 6 new cars everyday he had season tickets to the Detroit Tigers.

His seats were front row in the upper deck. Why?

So when there was a home run hit Joe would stand up and join the fans in throwing their ticket stubs over onto the crowd below... except Joe Girard would not throw his ticket stubs... he would toss hundreds of his Business Cards and they would flutter and fall onto the heads of thousands of Tiger Fans.

Now over a season or seasons this would be quite a Branding for himself. He was already well know in the Detroit area for his Sales Records of 18 Cars sold in one day and over 1400 in one year. This pioneer knew the power of the Business Card and took it to a new level. Different and inexpensive to say the least.

Especially today. Business Cards are only $30-$50 for 500-1000 in quantity depending on variable like colours and sides printed. So don't be shy... leave a few behind at the next Diner, Bar, Club or your favourite sporting event.

Here is Joe Girard's current Business Card. A little busy but then again so is/was he.
